Property Manager Wanted at Malmö City

Job Responsibilities

As a contract manager at Malmö City, you will be part of a team with an exciting mission. Malmö City is growing, and the demand for housing, workplaces, and public services is constantly increasing, which places high demands on good management of the municipality's land reserve. A reserve that is strategically important for the municipality's future development and economy.

Your work will focus on contract management, negotiating and establishing new agreements, as well as renegotiating existing agreements where appropriate from a strategic landowner perspective. The position primarily involves lease agreements, but other usage rights are also included. In your role as a contract manager, you will work independently to drive your processes forward, which also includes investigative work on various issues, such as alignment with comprehensive and detailed plans, contractual legal issues, as well as simpler property valuation and pricing. In addition to this assignment, you will also be involved in continuing the unit's work to develop new methods for interim use of premises. The position may also involve participating in investigative work related to both the unit's and the administration's areas of work. Other tasks within the framework of the operation may also become relevant.

Your role will be broad, exciting, and your contacts will be many, both internally and externally.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree of at least 180 credits in property management, land surveying, law, or equivalent qualifications that we assess as comparable.

The position requires at least two years of relevant work experience in property or land management where you have worked with negotiations, contract writing, analysis, and investigative work. You have good knowledge of commercial lease and tenancy law, and it is advantageous if you have knowledge of property valuation.

Excellent proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement to perform the job.

As you will have a variety of external as well as internal contacts, it is important that you are open and clear in your communication style. You have a good ability to work collaboratively with others and find it easy to establish contact and maintain relationships. You drive and structure your work independently, remain calm even in stressful situations, and have the ability to focus on the right things. Economic awareness is also important for the position.

About the Workplace

The Land Contract Unit consists of 10 employees whose main task is to represent the municipality's property ownership by being responsible for leases through rent and lease of land and buildings, including water areas.

The Land Contract Unit is one of five units in the property department at the property and street office.

The property and street office is one of 14 administrations in Malmö City with approximately 500 employees. The property and street office owns, develops, and manages the city's land on behalf of the technical committee.
